I really like this series, but it’s a shame that it’s been 8 months since the last video was uploaded. :

Thanks Chris, this series of tutorials has been really caring and inspiring. I just made a drawing trying to apply your lessons.
It’s no way near your cut, but as a first have a crack I’m quite pleased, since it’s way better than other paint experiments i did in PS before seeing your tutorials. Critique would be very welcome!! :)

I reckon you’re hurting your overall read by rendering all of the spherical bumps on his shadow side as lit by their own independent light sources. The pustules in the shadows seem to have their own halflights, terminators, shadow zones, and highlights, which is breaking the uniformity of the light. You never really see highlights in the shadows, since a highlight is a specular of the light source. I tend to have this habit, too. If you nix that, I reckon your work would gain a lot of impact

ElysiaLovesCakes February 6, 2011 at 9:43 pm

can you do a tutorial on painting public??

@CGArtSuccess oke thanks , when i draw in photoshop should i start with keen lines so tht you can see how the concept is gonna look on later stage or should i just start of with huge grey lines, or what do you do :) ?

CGArtSuccess February 6, 2011 at 11:33 pm

@iiZGriZzly Thanks Grizz! I use 100% opacity and flow, just tweak with brush settings.
