well, I have the same problem, but I chose to solve it using pre-designed web templates, which have a excellent design, and you just need to change contents. I recommend you the site http://www.xtrato.org where you can find pretty excellent web templates for free

I would also suggest browsing through the templates at Template Monster ( http://www.templatemonster.com ) for fantastic thoughts. I’m not saying to copy them, but just looking through them can spark thoughts to take bits and pieces of several.
